Hosting a virtual footy debate with Nick Robinson, Henry Winter, and Jacqui Oatley… today was a good day at the ‘office’!
We had 170 people tuned in from 17 countries for our virtual debate at lunchtime.
The speakers managed to persuade the audience that the 2019/20 football season shouldn’t be voided, and then as if by magic in the moments after the debate finished the Premier League announced they are committed to finishing the season with no end date set. What timing!
Some amazing questions during the floor debate from journalists at ESPN and Liverpool Echo, students and mentors on our programme, the chairman of South Shields FC Geoff Thompson, and members of the public.
It turns out people really enjoy intelligent entertainment at lunch time in quarantine, so this is something we will definitely keep doing.
